Balance and Symmetry

This picture shows balance through the arrangement that the shoes are in. They have a color coordinated pattern which shows both balance and symmetry.

The shampoo and conditioner bottles I used for this picture show balance and symmetry through their similarities with each other and placement, but I chose to put them off-centered for visual appeal.

I feel that this picture displays both balance and symmetry the best out of all the photos I took. The globe placed in the center of the hallway is what the eye is immediately drawn to, and if the photo were to be cut in half, both sides would be very similar.

I also feel this picture represents balance and symmetry well because of how the the parallel train tracks were captured through the angle I took this photo at. It also follows the rule of thirds.

This photo not only represents symmetry, but it also follows the rule of thirds. The reason I chose to put this necklace off-centered was so that the picture wasn't perfectly symmetrical and therefore more interesting.

Framing

I included this photo in the assignment because it is a literal display of "framing" where a picture frame is in place of the girls face.

This is my favorite photo from this assignment. I like how the bristles of the evergreen tree are is in focus and the background is blurred.

I chose to include this photo because the bench frames the trees and hills in the background. The bench is in focus and the background is blurred to highlight the frame, rather than what is being framed.

In this photo, the metal fence I used as a frame is in focus and the background is blurred to create a mysterious effect of what could be beyond the fence.

I chose to include this photo for the assignment because, similar to the first picture, this girls face is also framed but instead of a literal picture frame, she is framing her face with her hands creating more of an abstract frame.

Lines

This photo has a rustic look to it, and the painted lines stand out vividly.

I like this photo because the angle I took it at is visually interesting, and the blurred items in t he background create a mysterious effect.

I like how the orange is punched out in this photo, and how some of the spokes are in focus, and some aren't.

This is my favorite photo out of this collection because of the lighting, blurred background, and the focused wood planks.

This piano photo is interesting because of the angle, and the way the lines fade off, and the stark difference bethween the black and white keys.

Leading the Eye

I enjoyed the simplicity of this photo and how the red, blue and black colors stood out vibrantly in the simple background.

I feel that I captured the vibrancy the artwork in this photo, and liked that the paintings are generally clear, and hallway in the background is blurred to give it a mysterious effect.

I enjoyed how the yellow shoes stood out in this photo and how, as you continue to look ahead, the rest of the shoes are blurred.

This photo follows the rule of thirds well with the skyline and the fencepost, and your eye is sucessfully lead down the fence towards the horizon.

The books in this photo lead your eye towards open door which symbolizes the unknown and possible oppurtunity that will meet you when you walk out the door.
